“Every Child Deserves a Chance at Healing.”
Founded by Wess Burgner, The Artemis Council supports children impacted by addiction with mentorship, resources, and love — because they didn’t choose this fight, but they deserve to win it.
What We Do
Mentorship and emotional support
Resource kits and care connections
Referrals to counseling and education programs
Community events and outreach
The Artemis Council, founded by Wess Burgner, exists to support the children often left behind in the shadows of addiction.
Through mentorship, community partnerships, and access to critical resources, we help children navigate the emotional challenges of having a parent with substance use disorder.
Our mission — shaped by Wess Burgner’s personal journey through addiction and recovery — is to break the cycle by helping these kids feel seen, supported, and safe.

I wasn’t supposed to make it here.
My name is Wess Burgner, and I battled addiction, consequences, and the wreckage that follows. But in that darkness, I found clarity — not just in recovery, but in seeing the pain left behind for others. Especially the children.
I created The Artemis Council to be a lifeline for them — for the kids impacted by addiction who deserve to feel safe, supported, and seen.
